Book review on "Magyk"
I haven’t finished “Magyk” yet, but so far on the 8th chapter I find this book very interesting. “Magyk” is a book of imagination, it has interesting things, scary things, and you may not know it but hidden things…. 7 is a magic number. Once you start it you can’t stop. It “twings’ your imagination. I have a really big imagination yet, I need something to spark it. This book is the best book to read when you need something to spark your imagination, big or small. I am hoping I get far enough as the newest book “Queste”. I have seen “Queste” in more than one location, and even the cover makes me want to read it! I will be updating this post every day, hopefully, until I am done with “Magyk”. After I am done I will start on “Flyte” the second book.
UPDATE!!!
==========
I would like now to talk about a certain character with a very special personality. Her name is Jenna. Her father and mother Silas, and Sarah Heap call her “poppet”. They did not give birth to her though. You see, Silas likes to take long walks through the forest, and as he was returning from one, he found little “poppet” under a bush beside the castle wall.
“It was then when he sensed something nearby. Something alive but only just. He was aware of a small human heartbeat somewhere close to him. Silas stopped. As an Ordinary Wizard sense things, but, as he was not very good at as an Ordinary Wizard, he needed to concentrate hard. He stood still in the snow falling around him fast, already covering his footprints. Then he heard something—a snuffle, a whimper a small breath? He wasn’t sure but it was enough.”
You see, Jenna takes things seriously and always asserts them in her life. In the Heap’s great journey they bring along a Young Army Soldier, whom had frozen almost to death. Jenna feels sorry for him and takes care of him, and then when they are being pursued by the Hunter, he wants to yell, and scream, and kick the boat but Jenna thinks fast and stops him. After the Hunter had left Jenna calls him a “pig” and no longer feels like she has an obligation to take care of him.
Now I would like to talk about the Hunter. The Hunter is just, as you probably guessed, a horrible, snotty pig that hunts people down. And it just so happens to be he is hunting down Jenna.
It is hard to explain this part without saying the whole story so I’m just ending here, and tomorrow I will spoil it!
